THE GLENDRONACHOCTAVES
Our Master Distiller selected five Pedro Ximenez Sherry Octaves from the distillery’s warehouses to be bottled as The Glendronach 20 Years Old Octaves. An octave cask is made from staves of a previously used sherry butt and is approximately one-eighth the size of a butt. A smaller cask allows for more interaction between the wood and the spirit, giving the whisky a greater depth of flavour and aroma in a shorted period of time.

Tasting Notes
colour
Antique mahogany chestnut.
aroma
Ripe dark cherry and plum are the preludes to a harmony of rolling stone fruit, gentian, and a plume of smouldering tobacco – lifted by lilting notes of bramble, orange, and cranberry.
Palate
Dense undertones of dark chocolate, tobacco, and cocoa form an exquisite overture of flavour. A perfect counter comes in a crescendo of elegant plum and luxurious black cherry, enrobed in a swathe of velvet espresso.
